“I truly appreciate what the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival does. People, especially in isolated regions, need exposure to this diversity of film presentation. As an example of women’s ability, Films On The Go is vital to the advancement of women in this region, and I’m so happy it comes to my neck of the woods.”

This colourful documentary was completed in time to correspond with a major exhibition of Margaret Mellis’s work , survivor of the celebrated British-based St. Ives group of the 1930s. Mellis’s unique talent generated amazing canvases of bold colour, and reconfigured found objects from the natural world. She was deeply a part of her time but in a world dominated by men. Susannah York narrates in dulcet tones, just seductive enough to make us want to run to the nearest art gallery.
