Noreen Golfman - Chair

Noreen Golfman is a professor of English Literature and Film Studies at Memorial University and founding director of the St. John's International Women’s Film & Video Festival. She has been a media and cultural critic for CBC, vice-chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation, director of the MUN Cinema Series, and Chair of the Steering Committee of Friends of Canadian Broadcasting.

Anna Petras - Vice-Chair

Anna Petras is a filmmaker with a wide range of experience in television and radio. She is a graduate of the Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology and is an active member of the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Co-operative (NIFCO) and the Producers Association of Newfoundland (PAN).

Gay Decker

Gay Decker has worked in public relations (public and private sectors) for approximately 10 years. She has also spent eight years teaching English as a Second Language to both Canadian immigrants and foreign students. After hours, she is a freelance writer and amateur watercolourist. And when she's not washed out from that, you'll probably find her doing the quickstep behind her rather enthusiastic dog Zak. She has held several volunteer positions over the years, most recently as Director of Professional Development with the St. John's chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Kay Woodford

Kay has worked and volunteered with numerous arts organizations over the years, most recently with the Lady Cove Women's Choir and the St. John's International Women's Film Festival.

Deanne Foley

Deanne Foley has directed both dramatic and documentary films since her 2001directorial debut with the comedic short Trombone Trouble premiering at the Atlantic Film Festival 2001. Deanne has worked as a cultural correspondent for CBC's national late night arts program ZeD, as a field producer for the CBC's Street Cents, and was a guest director on the national TV show A Guy and Girl for the W Network. Deanne recently completed work on her first one-hour CTV documentary Boys On The Fringe and is currently shooting a short film under NIFCO's Picture Start program.

Susanne Hiller

Susanne Hiller has a background in communications, working most recently as the Director of Communications with the provincial government's Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. Previously, she worked as a features writer with The National Post in Toronto. She also has worked as a crime reporter with The Daily News in Halifax where she won an Atlantic Journalism Award in 1997 for the top news story in the region. She co-wrote a screenplay called "The Daily Blade" which aired on CTV in 1999 and was nominated for a Gemini Award. Susanne has written for various publications over the years, including Maclean's, Saturday Night, Time Canada and Toronto Life.

Jane Mingay

Jane Mingay has worked in TV for more than 20 years. She has produced, directed, written and commissioned hundreds of stories, including hour-long documentaries and specials. After working as a producer at CBC and CTV,  Jane spent eight years at  Discovery Channel,  including a stint as the executive producer of the nightly science show Daily Planet. In 2003 she returned to the public broadcaster as a senior producer  (Disclosure, fifth estate specials and Test the Nation). She has won numerous awards, including two Geminis.

Jane Adey

Jane Adey has been working in television and radio for ten years. She is currently a journalist with CBC Newfoundland and Labrador. She began her career at NTV. Since joining the team at CBC eight years ago, Jane has covered news and current affairs in every nook and cranny of the province. She has produced documentaries for CBC's award-winning, local program, Land & Sea and regularly fills in on the wildly popular radio show, The Fisheries Broadcast. She hosted a weekly, television segment profiling entrepreneurs called "Money Talks." Jane has been recognized for her work by the Atlantic Journalism Awards and by the Columbus Ohio, International Film and Video Festival. This is her first year on the board and she is thrilled to be a working with such a great team!

Angela Antle

Angela Antle is a visual artist and the producer – host of CBC Radio’s cultural program: “WAM.” As an artist, Angela works primarily in the medium of encaustic painting, but she’s also created a neon installation and is working on an installation for a multi media exhibit called “Shorelines.” It will tour Ireland and Newfoundland in 2010.  As a radio producer, Antle co-created and hosted "Socket" CBC Radio's first national radio program on visual artists and she is currently developing a television series that will combine the ingenuity of rural Newfoundlanders with the latest innovations in ‘green’ house design. Angela is also on the board of A1C Gallery and can be found most mornings on the pond rowing with 'The Unfit Mothers' crew.
