"Their work made us laugh, made us cry, but, best of all, gave us each hope that through this marvellous medium, women can make a political statement that can echo around the world."

Mum's The Word

Director/Réalisateur: Edward Tanasychuk
Producer/Producteur: Jill Knox-Gosse
Writer/Scénariste: Kerri MacDonald
Country/Pays: Canada (NL)
Running Time/Durée: 15 min

Festival techie Ed Tanasychuk has been around films for as long as he can remember, and so not surprisingly he has dared to craft a little jewel out of all that experience. MUM’S THE WORD is certainly a small, well polished gem, and we congratulate Ed on his sparkling accomplishment. Featuring most of our favourite local boys, while providing an object lesson in one of Newfoundland’s finest rural traditions, MUM’S THE WORD turns a heist into an uproarious howl. Indeed, it is easier for a mummer to be ‘lowed in than for a bunch of petty thieves to enter a rich man’s kingdom.
