Anita Reilly McGee - Executive Director

Filling in for Kelly Davis while she is on maternity leave, Anita Reilly McGee is a writer, director and producer. In 1988, she graduated with a BA Honours degree in Theatre from Toronto’s York University. McGee began her foray into filmmaking with two short films, Out on a Limb (1993) and The Trunk (1994). She also wrote and directed the award winning NFB documentary Seven Brides for Uncle Sam and produced a half-hour drama for CBC entitled Clothesline Patch, which won a Gemini for Best Short Dramatic Program in 2002. She also wrote, produced and directed an award-winning shorts New Neighbours (1999), Little Dickie (2002), and Dinner For One which won Best Short Narrative at Cinequest 2007 and was awarded the Runner Up certificate for the BAFTA short film award. In 2003, she completed the arts documentary Portrait of a 70 Foot Artist, a half-hour arts documentary for Bravo! and The Bread Maker, her first feature film which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, screened as the Atlantic Gala film for the Atlantic Film Festival and was the opening night film and gala for the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. Her latest film, Grand Dame, screened at the 2009 Festival.

Mary O'Shea - Assistant Festival Director

Mary is the newest addition to this year's Festival team. A native of St. John's, she is a recent graduate of Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. She was a volunteer for the 2009 Festival and is excited to be on board for the next year as Assistant Director.

Victoria Wells - Outreach Manager

Victoria has worked her way up the WFF ladder from FRAMED film camp participant to volunteer to Assistant Director and now Outreach Manager. Victoria graduated from Memorial University with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and Folklore as well as a Diploma for Performance and Communications Media. She co-directed/co-produced her first documentary "City Song: Story of a Busker" in 2008 and has worked as an editor, website developer and photographer.
