Introduction to Film Editing with Victoria Wells
March 21, 9am-5pm at NIFCO
As a part of our Scene and Heard Film Industry Conference, local technical director, videographer and editor Victoria Wells instructs this day-long workshop that will help you learn the basics of film editing and visual storytelling using Final Cut X. From setting up your project, mastering the timeline, transitions, syncing and more, this hands-on masterclass is open to all skill levels.
Steve Cook, NIFCO’s Facility Director and in-house colourist will join the morning session. Steve is responsible for post-production services as well as facility bookings at NIFCO, and will also be giving a tour of NIFCO to all participants.
This workshop is open to everyone. Class size is limited to ten participants. No previous experience required. Bring-your-own-laptop (mac with full or free trial version of Final Cut X). Limited laptops available for those who need it, if confirmed in advance. Please contact us.
Victoria Wells is an independent media creator based out of St. John’s, NL. Over the past ten years she has worked with with many local and national arts organizations including the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival as Technical Director, Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Co-Op (NIFCO) and the National Film Board of Canada. Victoria works as a video editor, filmmaking mentor, photographer, illustrator and videographer.
