International Women’s Day Screening: Dream, Girl

  • Engineering Building, Memorial University, Room EN-2006 240 Prince Philip Drive St. John's, NL, A1B 3R5 Canada (map)

Join us on International Women’s Day to celebrate female entrepreneurship! NATI, NLOWE, and WISE NL invite you to join us on Wednesday, March 8th, for a screening of Dream, Girl.

Dream, Girl is a documentary film showcasing the stories of inspiring and ambitious female entrepreneurs produced by Erin Bagwell & Komal Minhas. Dream, Girl launched at a private screening at the White House on May 26th, 2016 followed by a sold out world premiere June 9th at the iconic Paris Theater in NYC on June 9th, 2016. To learn more information about the film, check out the official website at www.dreamgirlfilm.com

Newfoundland & Labrador is home to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem that seeds, supports and nurtures a stream of emerging startups. Through private industry, academic and government policy efforts, the province has built a robust engine to accelerate the level of entrepreneurial activity across all sectors. However, like many jurisdictions across Canada, NL has a disproportionately low percentage of female entrepreneurs, and increasing the number of women who start their own businesses remains a daunting challenge to address in our ecosystem. The film presents the stories of a diverse group of fascinating female entrepreneurs in the context of pursuing your passion and dreaming BIG.

Moderator Libby Carew of LCC will lead a Q and A panel discussion of local female entrepreneurs, followed by a networking reception.

This community-focused event is presented in collaboration by NLOWE, NATI, WISE NL, BDC Capital, St. John’s International Women’s Festival, Memorial’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, Common Ground, Futurpreneur Canada, and Propel ICT.

Tickets are just $5.00! Register online for this event: https://dreamgirlyyt.eventbrite.ca
