More and more, increasing diversity both in front of and behind the camera is being recognized as a pertinent issue in this industry. Join us for a candid discussion on diversity in the industry luminaries who have transformed the industry through championing gender parity and representation in television and film.
This panel will feature Aisling Chin-Yee (Fluent Films, co-creator of #AfterMeToo), Mehernaz Lentin (CBC Films), and Anna Serner (CEO, Swedish Film Institute). Moderated by Jan Miller (Trans Atlantic Partners).
Tickets must be purchased (reserved with a Delegate Pass) in advance through the LSPU Hall Box Office. Tickets are not available at the door and will be available for purchase until 12pm the day prior, subject to availability. Limited seating.
Anna Serner is the CEO of the Swedish Film Institute since 2011. She has a LLM and has studied film, both practically and scientifically.
During Anna’s time at the Swedish Film Institute it has gone from being semi-private funding to all public funding. Since then the organisation has redone the funding schemes.
During the past seven years the work on gender equality has been focused and successful. During the same time Swedish film has improved remarkably in quality with many international successes such as Le Palme d’Or and Grand Prix in Cannes, Lux Prize and two nominations to The Academy Awards, among many others.
