[Interactive] Incubator Project 2018

For Immediate Release: The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival is now accepting proposals from female-identified applicants in Atlantic Canada for our annual [Interactive] Incubator Project. We will connect winners with industry experts who will help them develop, refine and pitch their projects.

This year’s new focus is women who want to develop and produce their first scripted web series. Five projects will be selected to participate in this development program.

The five chosen winners are brought to St. John’s for the 29th annual St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival (October 17-21, 2018). They are then given full Delegate pass to the Festival’s screenings and [Interactive] Film Industry Forum workshops. They are also matched with leading industry experts from across Canada for one-on-one consultations and meetings to further develop their projects, including Andra Sheffer from the Independent Production Fund. At the end of the week, winners are given the opportunity to pitch their projects to producers and organizations at the Face 2 Face Pitch Session. Other perks and prizes include a $1000 gear rental certificate from Sim International for each winner.

The [Interactive] Incubator Project is open to self-identifying females, 19 years of age or older who have resided in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island for the past twelve consecutive months.

Launched in 2014, the Incubator Project focuses on storytelling and connects creators with the expertise to help develop, focus and network their projects.

The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival is excited to continue fostering the growth of  women-driven, interactive storytelling and can’t wait to see what innovative project ideas are brought to life through the 2018 [Interactive] Incubator Project.

Submissions must be completed in full and postmarked or received by Monday, August 6th, 2018.
