Telefilm is dedicated to the cultural, commercial and industrial success of Canada’s audiovisual industry and is your financing partner. We support all stages of a feature film, from development, to production and post-production, to marketing to audiences both at home and abroad. Telefilm also makes recommendations regarding the certification of audiovisual treaty coproductions to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and administers the programs of the Canada Media Fund. Launched in 2012, the Talent Fund accepts private donations to principally support emerging talent. Stephanie Azam
Feature Film Executive, English-language Market

Born and raised in Ottawa, Stephanie worked at Industry Canada and then with the Business Development Bank of Canada in Toronto, from 1997 to 2001. Azam works as Feature Film Executive for the English-language market.

Previously, Stephanie held the position of National Marketing Specialist for the English language market at Telefilm. Before her arrival at Telefilm in January 2008, Stephanie worked in New York at Zeitgeist Films as the director of theatrical marketing, a position that allowed her to hone her marketing skills and knowledge of distribution in the highly competitive U.S. independent film market.

Lori McCurdy
Feature Film Executive, Atlantic Region

Lori is on Telefilm’s Project Financing team which is responsible for decisions on feature films at the national and regional levels. Her mandate is to develop and support feature film talent (producers, writers and directors) in the Atlantic region, primarily through investment in an annual portfolio of projects with budgets less than $2.5 million but she is also here as the primary contact for all Atlantic feature film clients and to help them navigate Telefilm and its programs. Lori has held a number of positions at Telefilm since her hiring in 1997, including Analyst, Business Affairs Lead Analyst, Television Business Unit Director, National Officer, Industry Development and Director, Performance and Quality Management.
